about me

nice to meet you

Hello and welcome to my Blog. My name is Liam Needham, and this is a fun little adventure to put my random thoughts, projects and personal opinions into an online space.

I’m a British boy in my late 20s, working as a Product Administrator for a large retail company.

My life is a dream and a fight all at once. Sedate, and a rollercoaster. I have everywhere to go, and have not yet found my wings. I am happy, finally after so long, but I am for sure not content.

I long to grab the world with both hands and I am willing to wade through the mire and risk it all to achieve, to forge a legacy and be proud of what I can accomplish.

Most of my life I have been a hobbyist creator, focusing on game design and world development. As soon as I learned that someone had to make the games I’d enjoyed playing, I set to work drawing up levels and characters, and joined a game builder’s club.

In some form or another, I have been designing and developing games since childhood. I love games as a medium for escape and exploration, and I love showcasing how games can be the perfect vessel for the transformative power of art and story.

For the past decade, I have been researching my family history, and take a deep interest in genealogy and scouring for records. I have a passion for all history, especially that of Dark Ages Britain, full of mystery among the undrawn maps. Many of my projects use the Dark Ages as a backdrop.

I like to know things. I like to have an opinion. I’m a sucker for rock and metal music. I like putting my money to work with limited trading skill. I want to see the world, from the great cities of old, to the most beautiful natural wonders.

I might love to make them, but I’m really bad at playing most games, and have been cursed with slow internet speeds for as long as I can remember.

I’m a capitalist dreamer. I’m an agnostic traditionalist. I’m competitive and take on too much. I value everyone’s voice, but respect nobody until they earn it. I hate the vapid and vacuous. I want meaning and elevation and transcendence.

I hope that you stick around to see my blog and where we can go. I have so much to say, and look forward to sharing it all with you.
